Chimborazo is an active volcano which is located in the Andes in Ecuador area with a peak altitude of 6,268.2 meters. What makes it so special Chimborazo, in addition to being the highest locations in Ecuador, is that the peak is the furthest point from the center of the earth, and not Mount Everest, known as the highest peak. This is due to the location of Chimborazo is along the planet's equatorial bulge.
Earth is not a perfect sphere. Planet Earth is "thicker" around the equator than around the poles. Chimborazo is one degree south of the equator, while Mount Everest almost 28 north of the equator. Although the peak of Chimborazo 2,580 meters lower than the summit of Everest (8,848 meters) when measured from the top surface of the sea, but the peak of the mountain Chimborazo 2.168 km farther than the summit of Everest, when measured from the center of the Earth.

This mountainous stretches through seven countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela, which is sometimes called "Andean Countries" (Andean States). On nashoba valley March 3, 2015 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single snowmobile collision on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) Trail 400 near 408 in Carling Township.
Carling Fire Department assisted Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with attending to the driver, a 31 year old female from Etobicoke. EMS transported the driver of the snowmobile to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
On March 3, 2015 the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Carling Fire Department and Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services attended a fatal snowmobile collision on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) nashoba valley Trail 400 near 408 in Carling Township. BARRIE -With early snow in many parts of Ontario and more in the forecast, winter s on the way and so is the 2015 snowmobiling season. But it s not time to start sledding yet and for safety s sake, the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) cautions snowmobilers to keep their sleds parked for now.
Going for even a short snowmobile ride can be very dangerous at this time. The ground, waterways and swamps are not frozen yet, nor is there enough snow base to protect yourself or your sled from terrain irregularities or other obstacles. Grooming operations have not started yet, so no OFSC trails are available to ride and all access to trails private property remain closed. Snowmobilers are also reminded to stay off public roads and farmers fields.

Hillsburgh Snowroamers are working with the OFSC to have the guide updated to reflect their trail changes until then these GPS traces indicate the changes. Rest assured the Hillsburgh network and the Orangeville networks remain connected.

Snowmobile Safety Week runs from January 17th to 25th this year, and so far there have been three snowmobile deaths, all involving alcohol. Last year 21 people died while snowmobiling in OPP jurisdictions. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) are telling snowmobilers to take charge of their own safety to eliminate snowmobile deaths. masonboro island They are offering some advice: Do not ride if you have consumed alcohol or drugs: Snowmobiling under the influence masonboro island of any amount of alcohol or drugs carries severe penalties. The O-F-S-C says there are safety issues at this time of year, as grounds, waterways, and swamps aren t fully frozen yet. They also say there isn t enough of a snow base to protect yourself from irregularities, like potholes, in the ground. No O-F-S-C grooming has started yet, and no trails are available yet. Two Southern Ontario snowmobilers had a brush with death last week, prompting the OPP and Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs to issue new warnings about ice safety. A 32-year-old Hanover man and his snowmobile plunged through the ice on Penetanguishene Bay on New Year s Day. Police say the man is extremely lucky to survive plunging into the icy waters without the benefit of a floater snowmobile suit. Two snowmobiles disappeared while travelling across the ice on Jack Lake near Peterborough. No one was injured in either incident.
