Port O’ Call helps bolster holiday spirit on Hatteras
Photo courtesy of Port O' Call website With the devastating effects of Hurricane Irene still creating chaos for some families, a few young ladies antelope point marina from the local DECA chapter of the Cape Hatteras Secondary school antelope point marina put together a huge donation event to help local families bring back that Christmas cheer to the island. Port O Call donated a substantial amount of holiday decor to help with their cause.
The number of families and individuals on Hatteras devastated by Hurricane Irene is significant, and a large number of families did not realize they had lost all their belongings in storage, including holiday decorations, until a few weeks before Christmas.
With antelope point marina the bad news spreading and the spirit antelope point marina of Christmas faltering, some Cape Hatteras students decided to get together to help those families who lost an important part of the expression of the Christmas spirit. A large number of local businesses, including Port O Call, jumped in to fill that void.
The families who came in were able to pick what they wanted. They included Christmas ornaments, snow globes, Christmas trees and stands, wrapping paper, small trinkets and gifts and most of all, Holiday cheer.
